International Cleantech Network participation at Conexão Rio 2030 – G20 Social hosted by Greennova Hub
The International Cleantech Network (ICN), hosted by Greennova Hub, will be participating in Conexão Rio 2030 – G20 Social. This preparatory event for the G20 Summit in Brazil will take place in collaboration with Rio de Janeiro’s State Secretariat for Environment and Sustainability from November 14 to 16, at Armazém 1B, Pier Mauá, near the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro.
The G20 Social aim is to expand civil society participation in the activities and decisions of the G20. The event, which will take place before the G20 summit, offers a unique opportunity to influence public policies on issues such as climate change and the transition to sustainable economies.
“Environmental and clean technology clusters play a crucial role in connecting research, driving innovation, supporting public policies, and breakthrough market practices to address global environmental challenges and drive economic development,” said Mike Mulcahy, ICN Chair. “Clusters facilitate multi–sectoral collaborations and accelerate the transition to green economies,” he added.
ICN members – Clean (Denmark), GreenCape (South Africa), Greentech South (UK), BQS Green Tech Cluster (Argentina) and Greennova Hub (Brazil) will join a panel discussion on sharing insights and practical experience replicating cleantech clusters in developing regions. This session will explore how adapting successful cluster models can stimulate innovation and build local climate resilience across diverse contexts. Panelists will share insights from international experiences, emphasizing the role of clusters in driving sustainable transitions tailored to local needs.
